She was not getting home. Rain took a bite of her burger, glad this world somehow took her cash. It was pretty good, a bit rare for her tastes but she was hungry as hell and the sauce was probably her new favourite. She was not getting home. Hindsight's always 20/20, and Rain knew she had acted rashly. It was understandable, though, appearing in a strange place surrounded by strange people no one telling you what was going on as they fussed with their strange equipment. When she had learned that someone had yanked her to an alternate earth with the flip of a switch but had no idea which earth was hers and how to send her home, you'd be pissed too. She was not getting home. Her reaction wasn't the right one, but it was justifiable, they called up the Apocalypse and had to reap what they had sewn. Now that Oscorp lab (In Kansas instead of New York? What is this earth!?) was a smoking hole in the ground, all their toys and research gone, and she was not getting home.
It hadn't sunk in yet, and Rain was trying her best not to let it sink in. She'd need a place to stay, a way to get some cash, some way to sort out her paperwork... Would her ID work in this earth? Was there already a Rain here? Was there already an Apocalypse here? She might be able to find her way back home if she reached out to someone like that. No, he'd probably just try to kill her like the one from her earth did. This burger was something else, she used to hate mushrooms but having them on a burgy just made her day. Probably would've gotten service faster if she had disguised herself like a human, sitting there with her Apoca-face on certainly was drawing a ton of stares.

It was hard to resist the urge to go to the fast food restaurant at the Wyandotte Plaza when passing through it. Especially when you had money to burn. Naomi knew a time was coming where people would shun fast food restaurants and anyone who ate at fast food places, but that was not this day. On this day we eat!
Naomi entered the albeit small restaurant and went to the front to order herself a cheese burger with pickles and small order of fries. A girl had to keep her figure after all. After getting her meal to stay she scanned the seats and noticed the woman with the blue lips and wondered what was up.
Could be a mutant, Naomi thought. Considering Ayen gave them a good rep in her mind she decided to be friendly. Walking over to her table and smiling at her.
"Hey, ma'am. Do you mind if I sit here?"

"It's a free country" Rain said, looking up slightly. Friendly enough looking lady. It would've been more like her to simply have told this person to piss off, but that's no way to treat the locals. Rain's a guest in this reality, gotta watch her manners.
"Wait, this is a free country, right?" She raised her head, sitting up a bit straighter and giving this woman a concerned look. Rain hadn't had a chance to check that stuff, this might be a spooky reality. Good burgers don't always lead to good people.

Naomi was taken aback by that response a little bit, but figured that this woman was probably a foreigner. There have also been reports of people from other worlds coming to this reality creating evidence for a multiverse, so who knows where anyone came from anymore. Naomi had reported on a few of the instances herself and was convinced Oscorp was to blame.
"Yes. It's a free country."
Naomi sat down across from the lady and set her tray on the table.
"I'm Naomi," she introduced herself. Expecting the woman to do the same.

Alex was sitting in a corner eating her ice cream when she noticed the people gathering around a certain spot in the restaurant. She immediately found the source to be a bald headed woman with blue lips talking to a brunette. The brunette looked normal enough, but the other girl didn't. Not that Alex cared. She was more bothered by the people rudely staring at her like she was a circus freak. Alex sat up, leaving her ice cream behind, and got in front of the crowd.
"Why don't you take a picture! It will last longer!"
They all stared at her now and she waved them away with her hands. Almost wishing she was Piper Halliwell and she could just make them freeze or explode.
"Shoo! Shoo! Go away and eat."

"I'm-" She was about to speak when another person came over, shouting at... everyone. Rain knew she stood out, she hadn't hid what she looked like, who she was. Maybe she was too distracted with how quickly and drastically her life had changed, maybe she was too tired? Well, she could take a hint.
"Alright, fine, I'll go." Rain stood up, grabbing her burger and starting to walk away, clearly not wanted here what with that lady actually saying "shoo" at her.
"Gotta find a hotel or something anyways, jeez..." At this rate, Rain wasn't even up for picking a fight with these people, she just wanted to sleep until she knew what to do next, or at least until she woke up in her own bed as a normal-looking person back in her own reality.

Naomi looked up from her spot at the new girl and was confused as to who she was saying shoo to. But who in the hell said 'shoo' anymore? Naomi stood up from her seat and gave a cold glare to everyone at the scene before following the woman out of the restaurant.
"Hey, wait! I'm sorry about that. Some people just don't know any better. Are you okay?"
Naomi was genuinely concerned about the woman whose name she still hasn't caught yet. She knew people could be prejudice just by looking at history, but you didn't really notice how prejudice some people could be until you saw it with your own eyes.

Alex looked over to the blue lipped woman who was going off at her now and was confused for a moment. Until she realized the woman must have thought she was saying shoo to her. Feeling guilty she told the crowd to get lost and followed the two women out.
"Ma'am! Ma'am! Wait up! I wasn't talking to you, I was talking at the crowd that was staring at you."
She hoped she could clear this all up as she hated it when people misunderstood her.

"Hm? O-Oh." A sheepish look came over her face, Rain pursed her blue lips and shrugged slightly, clearly embarrassed. Was she really this out of step? Granted she's technically on the run, but... Yeah, there was a crowd, this woman just wanted to help her out.
"Sorry, sorry... I-" Wait a minute, Ma'am? Rain put her hands on her hips, her expression suddenly cross as she snapped slightly.
"Ma'am? Don't you Ma'am me!" No, cut that out, breathe, Rain. She calmed herself with a long breath before speaking again.
"Sorry, it's just been a long day... You two know somewhere we can go to talk? Preferably somewhere less public?"

Oh good Alex was just trying to help. Naomi didn't have to give her her death glare.
"I have a place downtown we could go to talk. My car is over there."
Naomi pointed to a red four-door car that was in the Burger King parking lot. She looked over to Alex as she searched her purse for her keys.
"You're welcome to come along."

The woman seemed to have calm a bit before getting offended at being called ma'am. Alex just couldn't win. Until she calmed again and said it has just been a long day.
"We've all had those."
Alex looked over at Naomi who offered to take the two back to her place so they could talk. Alex didn't really know these women that well, but she wanted to help the blue lipped woman, whose name she really needed to get, out, so she agreed.
"Yeah I'll come. I think I parked right next to you. My name is Alex."

"Rain, nice to meet you." She offered a handshake as she walked, smiling slightly. It was rather unsettling on her inhuman features, but she hoped that the thought of it counted.
"Where are you thinking of going?" Maybe she could loosen up a bit, these people aren't causing her any trouble, and she was definitely taking some frustration out one one of them unfairly. It wouldn't be right to keep that up, not when these two were so helpful for her.
"Thanks for this, I kinda... just got here today."

"My apartment is downtown. We can talk there."
Naomi grabbed her keys and unlocked her car in the parking lot and went over to the driver's side. Figuring that Alex would simply follow them there in her own car.
"You can get in the passenger's side. It's unlocked."
Naomi opened up the driver side door and sat behind the steering wheel waiting for Rain and Alex to get ready.

"Nice to meet you, Rain."
Alex smiled. Glad to see everything had worked out and being friendly towards her didn't come back to bite her. She went over to her car in the parking lot and got in. Waiting for Naomi to pull out and lead the way to her apartment so the three of them could talk.

She got into the car, sitting in the back. Part of this felt like a huge prank, with so many things being the same it was impossible to accept that this was another earth, a different reality. Something in her kept pleading for her friends to pop out from around a corner and laugh at how well they pranked her...
"So, you both from here? Or..." This was going to be one awkward car ride.
